THE INCUBUS (Canada 1981)
Blu-ray | 7 April 2025 | £17
A quiet New England town becomes the site of a grisly murder and assault, leaving a young man dead and his girlfriend in critical condition. Sam Cordell, head surgeon and medical examiner at the local hospital, senses something isn't quite normal about the attacker, but barely a day later, another woman is savagely assaulted and killed. With the realisation that a maniac is on the loose, Sam, with the help of police chief Hank Walden and newspaper columnist Laura Kincaid, must unravel the mystery before additional murders occur, all the while unaware that Sam's own daughter, Jenny, might be next on the victim list...
An intense and disturbing supernatural slasher, John Hough's (Legend of Hell House, American Gothic) Incubus stars acclaimed actor and filmmaker John Cassavetes (A Woman Under the Influence), John Ireland (The Shape Of Things to Come) and Kerrie Keane (Spasms) in her feature film debut. Stylishly photographed by Albert J. Dunk (Class of 1984) and scored by Stanley Meyers (The Deer Hunter), 88 Films unleashes this 80s slasher classic onto Blu-ray.

WACKO (USA 1982)
Blu-ray | 7 April 2025 | £16.99
Thirteen years ago, at the Halloween Pumpkin Prom, the infamous Lawnmower Killer went on a brutal rampage, murdering several high school students, including Mary Graves' older sister, traumatizing her for life. Now, after the unexpected escape of a prisoner from the state mental hospital, who may or may not be the killer, it's up to hard-nosed gumshoe Dick Harbinger to solve the case before the Lawnmower Killer seeks out a new slew of victims at the upcoming Pumpkin Prom, that is if anyone is able to survive the hilarious horror hijinks leading up to it!
Thanks to pieces such as Student Bodies and Saturday the 14th, comedy-horror was big business in the early 80s and Wacko from 1982 was one of the better ones. Exploitation director Greydon Clark delivers a mad mix of spoof and shocks whilst his A-list cast, which includes George Kennedy (Charade), Joe Don Baker (Goldeneye, Fletch), Charles Napier (The Blues Brothers, Supervixens) and Stella Stevens (The Poseidon Adventure) play the movie as straight as they can. Newly restored in 4K from its long lost camera negative,

JAKOMAN AND TETSU [JAKOMAN TO TETSU] (Japan 1949)
Blu-ray | 21 April 2025 | £17
Jakoman and Tetsu is an early action masterpiece from Kinji Fukasaku (Battles Without Honor and Humanity, Battle Royale), adapted from a script written by the legendary Akira Kurosawa.
Set in 1947 in a small coastal village among the majestic snowy landscapes of Japan’s northernmost island of Hokkaido, Takakura Ken (the Abashiri Prison series, Ridley Scott’s Black Rain) is Tetsu, the prodigal son who returns from the war to help out his father Kyubei with the family herring fishing business. His arrival coincides with that of a one-eyed miscreant named Jakoman, played by Tamba Tetsuro (Harakiri, You Only Live Twice), who bears a long-standing grudge against Kyubei and is intent on causing as much mayhem among the hordes of seasonal fishermen as possible.

This gripping giallo from director Ferdinando Baldi is a prime and gritty example of the celebrated movie genre.
On a small island in the Mediterranean, an annual vacation turns into a bloody nightmare for one rich family as each one is brutally murdered by an unknown executioner. NIGHT TRAIN MURDERS [L'ULTIMO TRENO DELLA NOTTE] (Italy 1975)
Deluxe Collector's Edition Dual Format 4K UHD & Blu-ray | 28 April 2025 | £35
Originally banned in 1976 by the BBFC and a few years later becoming one of the original casualties of the infamous Video Nasties hysteria, Night Train Murders, AKA Last Stop on the Night Train, is still a forceful and challenging picture.
It focuses on two young girls who experience a journey of unimaginable terror at the hands of deranged psychos as they journey between Germany and Italy. Violent and thanks to its hugely controversial content, the movie is still highly regarded as an exploitation classic. Using the dark terror of the young girls’ torment it juxtaposes it with the season of goodwill which makes the situation even more unbearable.
Visually raw and uncompromising, this is one ride you’ll never forget.

Roman Porno maestro Tanaka Noboru (Watcher in the Attic, The Oldest Profession) brings his characteristically poetic approach to this vibrant collage of the lives, loves and dreams of a group of sex workers at a ‘soapland’ bathhouse massage parlour in Tokyo.
Masako ( Katsura Tomoko), and her out-of-hours relationship to her next-door neighbour Honda (Yoshizawa Ken; Ecstasy of Angels, Guts of a Beauty) is the focus of this love letter to the vibrant Kabukicho entertainment district in its early 1970s heyday, presented for the very first time in the UK by 88 Films.

Strikingly directed by Kao Pao-shu – notable as one of the few women who handled martial arts movies – Lady With a Sword has an emotional power to match its outstanding fight scenes, as justice, family loyalties and inflexible tradition all collide. 88 Films are proud to present the UK Blu-ray premier of a true feminist classic.
