Hammer Films’ cult classic Captain Kronos: Vampire Hunter will make its worldwide debut as a brand-new 4K restoration in January to mark the film’s 50th anniversary.

A rash of mysterious deaths due to accelerated ageing compels Dr Marcus to summon his brother-in-arms, Captain Kronos – once a soldier but now a professional vampire hunter. As the deaths continue, however, Kronos realises that this is no ordinary vampire he's hunting.

Written and directed by the legendary Brian Clemens (The Avengers, The Professionals) and originally released in 1974, Captain Kronos: Vampire Hunter has been meticulously restored from the original film negatives and will be available as a limited collector’s edition 5-disc set (2xUHD discs and 3xBlu-rays) enclosed within a high-end, leather-feel slipcase with debossed red foil titling.

This release not only revives a Hammer classic but reaffirms the studio’s commitment to restoring its cinematic treasures for today’s horror enthusiasts and dedicated collectors worldwide. It is the first 4K restoration from John Gore’s Hammer team and an essential collector’s edition that offers a deep dive into the film’s creation and legacy. With extensive bonus materials, including new rare interviews and archival commentaries, it offers fans an unprecedented look behind the scenes of one of Hammer’s most innovative films.

Captain Kronos: Vampire Hunter will be released as a Limited Edition 5-disc UHD/Blu-ray set by Hammer Films on 27 January 2025 at the pre-order price of £50.
