Acclaimed documentary Amy to have special screening at Glastonbury
12 June 2015
It was confirmed today that Asif Kapadia’s Amy will receive a special screening at this summer’s Glastonbury Festival on Thursday 25th June.
The highly-anticipated documentary about the late Amy Winehouse will screen as this year’s Guardian Presents film on the William’s Green stage at Glastonbury and will be preceded by a Q&A with BAFTA-winning filmmaker and Amy editor Chris King and video message from director Asif Kapadia. The Q&A is set to begin at 2.20pm followed by a screening of the film beginning at 2.45pm.
From BAFTA award-winning director Asif Kapadia (Senna), Amy tells the incredible story of six-time Grammy-winner Amy Winehouse – in her own words. Featuring extensive unseen archive footage and previously unheard tracks, this strikingly modern, moving and vital film shines a light on the world we live in.
Amy received its world premiere at Cannes Film Festival earlier this month where it received huge critical praise, including 5 star reviews from The Guardian, The Times, The Evening Standard and The Independent. The UK premiere will take place at Edinburgh International Film Festival on 18th June.
