It's been a busy week for Network, who having announced the DVD release of The Outsider and Thunderstorm earlier in the week, have confirmed a further two titles in 'The British Film' collection, the 1936 The Tenth Man and the 1952 Little Big Shot.
Both films will be released on DVD only on 25th May 2015 at the RRP of £9.99 each.
The Tenth Man (1936)
Geroge Winter (All Quiet on the Western Front), a self-made businessman and MP, lets nothing get in the way of his climb to the top. Certain in his belief in the corruptible and foolish nature of others, whenever Winter meets a competitor who can't be bought, he destroys the man through methods both legal and underhanded. Then, he meets his 'tenth man': a victim who refuses to be silenced by threat or bribery, with the power to bring Winter’s house of cards crashing down around him.
A masterly adaptation of W. Somerset Maugham’s play by director Brian Desmond Hurst, this drama features a brilliant central performance by John Lodge as the ruthless investment broker who will stop at nothing to shore up his social and financial position, with Antoinette Cellier as the woman he refuses to release from a loveless marriage.
The Tenth Man is featured here in a brand-new transfer from the original film elements, in its as-exhibited theatrical aspect ratio, and will be released on UK DVD on 25th May at the RRP of £9.99, courtesy of Network’s ‘The British Film’ collection.

Little Big Shot (1952)
Ronald Shiner (Aunt Clara, Dry Rot) and veteran actress Marie Lohr (Pygmalion) feature among the cast of this whimsical crime caper directed by John Paddy Carstairs, best known for his work with stars such as Frankie Howerd, Jimmy Edwards and Norman Wisdom.
Harry Hawkwood is the son of 'Pa' Hawkwood, one of England’s greatest crooks, and it’s Harry’s ambition to follow in father’s footsteps and be as good as Dad. Alas! Harry has a kind heart, and it is only out of respect for the old man that his father’s gang tolerates him. When the gang decides to go for the Maddox jewels, Harry is given the job of "inside man" – will his good nature get the better of him once again?
