Network Distributing have announced three new titles for Blu-ray and DVD release in February, all with music scores by John Barry, the legenday composer of the James Bond Theme: The Legend of the Lone Ranger, Raise The Titanic! and The Tamarind Seed.
The Legend of the Lone Ranger (1981)
Texas Ranger John Reid is the sole survivor of an ambush arranged by outlaw leader Butch Cavendish and his gang. He is rescued by his childhood Comanche friend, Tonto, and when he recovers from his wounds he dedicates his life to fighting the evil that Cavendish represents. Donning a mask, he saddles up his horse Silver and becomes "The Lone Ranger": the greatest western hero of them all.
Featuring action-packed direction from multiple-Oscar-nominated cinematographer William A. Fraker (Rosemary’s Baby) and a rousing score from the legendary John Barry, this is the ultimate story of the famous Western hero and his Native American companion, Tonto. The cast includes Twin Peaks' Michael Horse as Tonto and Back to the Future's Christopher Lloyd as Butch Cavendish.

Raise the Titanic! (1980)
Following a discovery in northern Siberia, US intelligence learn that in April 1912 a raw mineral, now vital for the development of a new defensive weapons system, was loaded onto RMS Titanic by an unknown American. As scientists join the US Navy to try to salvage the sunken vessel, a Russian crew is also heading to the scene, equally desperate to reach its vital cargo.
Based on Clive Cussler’s best-selling novel, and featuring an outstanding score from legendary composer John Barry, this gripping adventure follows a team of scientists on a historic and potentially deadly mission to recover valuable raw material from the depths of the doomed passenger liner.
Released in 1980 – five years before the wreck of the Titanic was located – the film boasts a high-calibre cast – including Jason Robards, Alec Guinness and M. Emmet Walsh – and spectacular special effects, with the action complemented by John Barry’s hauntingly beautiful and evocative film score. The spiralling cost, however, prompted producer Lew Grade to famously claim that "It would have been cheaper to lower the Atlantic."
Raise The Titanic! will be released on 9th February 2015 on Blu-ray at the RRP of £14.99, and DVD at the RRP of £9.99, courtesy of Network Distributing’s ‘The British Film’ collection.

The Tamarind Seed (1974)
Holidaying in Barbados where she hopes to overcome the unhappiness of a broken love affair, Englishwoman Judith Farrow meets debonair Russian Feodor Sverdlov. As they explore the island paradise together they are, outwardly, simply two people falling in love, yet as their mutual feelings grow, so too do the suspicions of the intelligence agencies in London and Moscow. In a world where no-one is to be trusted and appearances can be fatally deceptive, every move they make is being watched.
A captivating romantic drama unfolds against a backdrop of Cold War paranoia in this acclaimed feature by multi-award-winning director Blake Edwards (Breakfast at Tiffany’s), with an outstanding score from multiple Oscar-winner John Barry.
Presented here in a brand-new digital transfer, The Tamarind Seed stars Julie Andrews (Mary Poppins) as a Home Office minister’s assistant, and Omar Sharif (Lawrence of Arabia) as the Paris-based Soviet attaché with whom she falls in love. Among the outstanding support cast are Anthony Quayle (Hamlet, The Wrong Man) and Sylvia Syms (Victim, The Queen), whose performance earned her a BAFTA Award in 1974.
The Tamarind Seed (15) will be released by Network Distributing on 9th February 2015 on Blu-ray at the RRP of £14.99, and DVD at the RRP of £9.99, as part of ‘The British Film’ collection.
