Trinity Films have announced the home entertainment release of award-winning documentary Plot for Peace, a character-driven historical thriller charting the dissolution of apartheid, available on DVD and video on demand from 24th March.
The film tells the story of Jean-Yves Ollivier (alias 'Monsieur Jacques'), the man responsible for the behind-the-scenes bargaining that was instrumental in securing regional peace and the end of a system of segregation that threatened to bring Africa to its knees.
With exclusive interviews from current and former heads of state, Plot for Peace reveals a picture of a man integral to the historical negotiations responsible for freeing Mandela, previously hidden from public view and omitted from history. Operating as a life-line for top-secret contacts, Ollivier conceived and organized the exchange of a vast number of political prisoners, directly altering the course of peace talks across Africa.
Plot for Peace is written by Stephen Smith, directed by Mandy Jacobson and Carlos Agulló, and produced by the African Oral History Archive. Original Music by Antony Partos. The original Song 'Waterfall' is produced and performed by Blue May and Nik Yiannikas.
Plot for Peace will be released on UK DVD and vdeo on demand on 24th March 2014 by Trinity Films at the RRP of £17.99 for the DVD, VOD price to be confirmed.
