Iron Sky: Dictator's Cut on DVD and Blu-ray in February

8 January 2014

In 1945 the Nazis flew to the Dark Side of the Moon, and established a secret hideout, where they've been preparing for their grand return. The year is 2018, and the Americans return to the Moon in search for powerful energy source, Helium-3. They end up landing too close to the secret Nazi fortress, and although the big Nazi weapon "Götterdämmerung" is not yet ready to be deployed, soon the skies are full of iron, as the Nazi war machines take a pre-emptive move against threat from Earth.

Film 4 FrightFest and 4Digital Media have announced the UK premiere of Iron Sky: Dictator's Cut – whose cast includes cult favourite Udo Kier, soon to be delighting us in Lars von Trier's Nymphomaniac – ahead of its special collectors' Steelbook Blu-Ray release 10th February 2014.

This director's cut (sorry, Dictator's Cut) of the 2012 science fiction comedy Iron Sky features an additional twenty minutes of previously unseen footage, and will screen with Director Timo Vuorensola and Producer Tero Kaukomaa in attendance at a special one-off event at the Prince Charles Cinema, Leicester Square on Saturday 1st Februay 2014 at 6.00pm.

Director Timio Vuorensola said, "This is the cut that I always wanted for the film - I can't wait for everyone to see this version, it's crazier, bigger and more fantastical than the first!" The event will include special meet and greets, signing opportunities, one-of-a-kind Frightfest posters and chance to purchase signed copies of the film on limited edition, special steelbook format ahead of its general release on February 10th. Tickets are £13.50 and £11.00 for members and are available from the PrinceCharlesCinema or on-line here.

This will be followed by a home video release of the film on DVD and Blu-ray on 10th February 2014 by 4Digital Media at the RRP of £15.99 for the DVD or the regular Blu-ray (nice to see both priced the same for a change) and £19.99 for the Limited Edition Steelbook Blu-ray.
