Dare on DVD in January

7 December 2010

Drama queen Alexa (Emmy Rossum) and gay geek Ben (Ashley Springer) are best buddies, but their friendship is put to the test when the mysterious and handsome Johnny (Zach Gilford) is cast as the lead in their high-school production of A Streetcar Named Desire. Johnny, who is seemingly attracted to them both, becomes ever more confused as to who he really wants. As sexual tensions reach boiling point, Johnny's sexual identity becomes unhinged, leaving Alexa and Ben to face up to their desires and accept that it takes more than just a truth, a dare, and a threesome, to get what you really want from life.

Dare is the feature film debut of director Adam Salky and writer David Brind and is an expansion of their award winning 2005 short film of the same name. It also features an interesting supporting cast that includes Rooney Mara (The Social Network), Alan Cumming (X Men 2), Sandra Bernhard (The King of Comedy) and Ana Gasteyer (Mean Girls).

Dare will be released on UK DVD on 31st January 2011 by Peccadillo Pictures at the RRP of £14.99. The disc will also include the original 2005 short film from which the feature was developed.
