Ex-con Alex spends his days working as an assistant in a Viennese brothel. It's here where he falls for Ukranian hooker Tamara. Their desperate plans for escape unexpectedly clash with the lives of a police officer and his wife.

Winner of a number of international festival awards and nominated for the Best Foreign Language Film Oscar in 2009, Revanche is a gripping and compellingly performed revenge thriller, a tense and surprising portrait of vengeance and redemption, and a journey into the darkest forests of human nature, in which violence and beauty exist side by side.

Directed by Austrian filmmaker Gotz Speilmann, the film stars Johannes Krisch Irina Potapenko, Andreas Lust and Ursula Strauss, unfamiliar faces to an internationa audience, something Roger Ebert saw as a bonus, allowing the audience to more easily see them as characters rather than actors, also remarking that "it simply tells a good story, very well."
