Winner of the Jury Prize, Cannes Film Festival 2009, Andrea Arnold's acclaimed film Fish Tank scooped the 2010 BAFTA for Outstanding British Film.
Fish Tank tells the story of feisty teenager Mia (newcomer Katie Jarvis) living on a tough Essex estate, whose life is turned upside down when her mother brings home a charismatic new boyfriend (Michael Fassbender). Director Andrea Arnold (whose debut feature Red Road was a 2006 indie favourite) casts the same unflinching, unprejudiced gaze and touches on the themes of her Oscar-winning short Wasp to create an original and unsettling tale for our age.
Following his acclaimed central performance in Hunger, Michael Fassbender stars opposite talented newcomer Katie Jarvis. Rounding out the principal cast are BAFTA-nominated Kierston Wareing, Harry Treadaway and 12 year old Rebecca Griffiths making her film debut.
Having already released the film on DVD in January, Artificial Eye are now bringing Fish Tank to UK Blu-ray on 22nd March 2010 at the RRP of £19.99 and with teh following extra features:
- Andrea Arnold's Oscar-winning 2003 short film Wasp starring Danny Dyer and Natalie Press;
