The Rivals of Sherlock Holmes, the complete second series on DVD in February

14 January 2010

Based on the best-selling anthologies of Victorian and Edwardian detective fiction, The Rivals of Sherlock Holmes showcases the world-famous consulting detective's fictional rivals in the fog-shrouded crime capital of London.

Set in the three decades before the Great War, each story dealt with an individual and perplexing case and featured a different detective. This top-flight, BAFTA-winning series attracted an incredible array of talent, including John Thaw, Derek Jacobi, Joss Ackland, Jean Marsh, Michael Sheard, Kenneth Colley and Richard Beckinsale. The series was written by Julian Bond, Philip Mackie, Jacques Futrelle and Gerald Kelsey and directed by Jonathan Alwyn, Alan Cooke and Jim Goddard.

The Rivals of Sherlock Holmes, the Complete Second Series, a 4-disc set comprising all 13 episodes of the series, will be released on UK DVD on 15th February 2010 by Network at the RRP of £39.99.
