Orphan on DVD and Blu-ray in November

5 November 2009

The tragic loss of their unborn child has devastated Kate (Vera Farmiga – Up in the Air, The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas) and John (Peter Sarsgaard – Kinsey, Jarhead), taking a toll on both their marriage and Kate's fragile psyche as she is plagued by nightmares and haunted by demons from her past. Struggling to regain some semblance of normalcy in their lives, the couple decides to adopt another child. At the local orphanage, both John and Kate find themselves strangely drawn to a young girl named Esther (Isabelle Fuhrman). But Esther is not what she appears to be and, concerned for the safety of her family, Kate tries to get John and others to see past Esther's sweet facade. But her warnings go unheeded until it may be too late...for everyone.

Having attracted better reviews than most American horror movies of late – Roger Ebert said of it: "You want a good horror film about a child from hell, you got one. Do not, under any circumstances, take children to see it. Take my word on this." – the film is now set to arrive on UK DVD and Blu-ray from Optimum Home Entertainment on 30th November 2009 at the RRP of £17.99 (DVD) and £24.99 (Blu-ray). Extra features have been confirmed as:
