The Italian Job 40th Anniversary 2-disc Special Edition on DVD and Blu-ray in June

27 May 2009
One of those movies that even the average moviegoer can quote one line from, The Italian Job has been blowing the bloody doors off (sorry, this is all from the press release) for the past 40 years and to celebrate, Paramount Home Entertainment has announced the DVD and Blu-ray special edition for release in the UK in June.

This classic heist movie, which has been paid homage to time and time again (and let's not talk about the remake) stars Michael Caine as main con Charlie Croker. Charlie and his gang of thieves mastermind a job to rip off a cache of gold in Turin, with the help of three unforgettable Minis. With the police hot on his heels, Charlie soon finds that grabbing the money is child's play compared to getting away with it... With 60's style, very British humour, a seminal car chase and a real cliff hanger of an ending, The Italian Job deserves its place as one of the most iconic British films of all time.

The Italian Job 40th Anniversary 2 disc Special Edition will be released by Paramount on UK DVD and Blu-ray on 15th June 2009 at the RRP of £12.99 (DVD) and £19.99 (Blu-ray) with the following special features:

  • Commentary with screen writer Troy Kennedy Martin and Mathew Field, author of The Making of the Italian Job;

  • Self Preservation Society: Making The Italian Job;
