Stormy Weather in April

25 March 2009

Stormy Weather is part of the whole series of the renowned "Aldwych Farces" penned by Ben Travers (A Cuckoo in the Nest, Rookery Nook). Polotski, a sinister Russian who, years ago, had been married to a French woman, Louise. Convinced that Polotski is dead, Louise remarries and is now the wife of Sir Duncan Cragg, a prominent social figure. Polotski sees the situation as an unmissible opportunity for blackmail, and thus manipulates the opportunity to his own advantage. He kidnaps Louise in her husband's absence; upon realising this, Sir Duncan sets off to find her – unbeknownst to him, he has severely underestimated the brutal nature of Louise's first husband... An energetic farce directed by and starring Tom Walls, one of the most influential figures in British comedy, and featuring a cast of Aldwych regulars.
