We remain a little divided here about the American TV series Dexter, an intriguing concept that certainly walks on the dark side but can't shake off those right-wing overtones that dog all such vigilante dramas. It's nonetheless found an audience and is certainly preferable to a lot of the fluff you'll generally find occupting the schedules either here or across the water. If you are a fan then you'll doubtless be excited by the news that series 2 is coming up for a UK release at the end of this month. If you're new to it then a quite PR overview is probably in order.

Anchored by an intelligent and quirky performance by Emmy and Golden Globe nominee Michael C. Hall as Dexter Morgan, Dexter tells the story of a man leading a thrilling and horrific double life as both an likable forensics expert for the Miami Police Department and a vigilante serial killer living by his own strict moral code – only killing murderers who can't otherwise be brought to justice. Featuring a stellar ensemble cast that includes Jennifer Carpenter, Julie Benz and Jaime Murray, Dexter is definitely not for the faint hearted.
