David and Lisa is the Academy Award nominated story about two emotionally troubled teenagers drawn to each other and who ultimately develop a deep bond that changes both their lives forever. Portrayed unforgettably by Janet Margolin (Annie Hall) and Kier Dullea (2001: A Space Odyssey), the painfully shy Lisa can communicate only through rhyme and David has a phobia of being touched. Described by Time magazine as "a minor masterpiece" and "easily the best US movie released in 1962," David and Lisa was nominated for two Oscars (Best Director for Frank Perry and Best Writing, Screenplay Based on Material From Another Medium for Eleanor Perry) and four BAFTAs, it also nailed a Best First Work award for Frank Perry at the Venice Film Festival and Best Actor and Best Actress awards for Kier Dullea and Janet Margolin at the San Francisco International Film Festival.
David and Lisa has been announced for a UK DVD release on 22nd September 2008 at the RRP of £15.99. No extras have been listed. |
